Attic Hatch Prop

The Attic Hatch Prop is designed to simulate the access point into a home's attic, where a large amount of energy is lost in a typical home. Student tasks will include weather stripping, air sealing, and testing the attic hatch for air leakage.

Non-IC Can Light Prop

The Non-IC Can Light Prop is designed to simulate a recessed light which are often found in homes. Students will learn how to properly construct and implement an air sealed box over can lights in accordance with BPI standards.

Duct Sealing and Duct Insulation Prop

The Duct Sealing and Duct Insulation Prop is designed to simulate leaky ductwork associated with HVAC systems found in a home.

Exhaust Fan and New Duct Prop

The Exhaust Fan and New Duct Prop is intended to simulate a bathroom fan and exhaust system found in a home.

Large Hole with Flue Pipe Prop

The Large Hole with Flue Pipe Prop is designed to simulate a flue penetrating an attic through a mechanical chase. Students will learn how to select appropriate fire-rated materials to effectively airseal an opening with a heat source.

Large Hole Prop

The Large Hole Prop is designed to simulate mechanical chases and large openings that may be found in attics or crawl spaces.

Roof and Soffit Prop

The Roof and Soffit Prop are used to teach students proper installation of baffling to prevent wind-washing and proper insulation and air sealing of the top plate on the outside edge of a building envelope.

Workboxes

Kits will include workboxes in which students can insert individual props while they work. Props can then be depressurized by placing the work box onto the pressure test bench. This picture demonstrates how a Large Hole with Flue Prop and a PVC pipe can be inserted into a work box.

Triple Bay Pressure Test Bench

The Triple Bay Pressure Test Bench allows the student to pressure test multiple props simultaneously by mounting props on top of a single pressure test box.

Single Pressure Test Box

The Single Pressure Test Box is designed to depressurize individual props for pressure testing and air leakage.

4x8 Dense Pack Insulation Wall Prop with Calibration Box Prop Attached

The 4x8 Dense Pack Insulation Wall Prop with Calibration Box Prop is used for training students how to properly calibrate equipment and install dense-packed insulation. The students will be tested on how effectively a dense packed wall will stop air flow by conducting air leakage tests using chemical smoke.

The Dense Pack Insulation Calibration Box Prop is used to calibrate equipment prior to a dense packing project.

4x8 Probe Wall Prop

The 4x8 Probe Wall Prop is used to test students ability to probe for obstructions in cavities when dense packing insulation. Students will also learn to identify all cavities in a wall space prior to installing insulation.
