Differentiate Yourself as a Multi-Family Energy Auditor

This advanced, 16-hour BPI Multi-family Building Analyst training course is intended for individuals who want to learn energy auditing requirements for multi-family housing. Students will learn fundamentals of building science and then learn to apply those concepts to the unique nature of multi-family residential housing. This blended learning training is available via online, anytime webinar.

In order to be proctored by a third-party witness during testing, students enrolling in the BPI Multi-family Building Analyst on-demand webinar must also appear in a live classroom setting. BPI Multi-family students will be asked to choose a date from our live BPI Building Analyst training schedule to complete their BPI Multi-family testing. Prerequisites: BPI Building Analyst Certification or experience with HVAC systems and their operations is strongly recommended. Training will include review of some Building Analyst concepts, but this is not a Building Analyst preparatory course.

Course Description: This BPI Multi-family Building Analyst Certification course will teach you how to apply building-as-a-system fundamentals to diagnose problems and improve the performance of larger, more complex residential structures.

Audience: This course is ideal for BPI Building Analyst Professionals, home inspectors, energy auditors, HERS raters HVAC professionals, insulation professionals, general contractors, engineers, architects, students and anyone interested in understanding renewable energy or looking for a new career path.

    I just completed my AA in Aplied Sciences at the Center of Excellence for WA State, for Power Operations, and Energy Efficiency at Centralia College, Centralia WA. I directed and led a commercial Energy Audit of Student Services Center at Centralia College as the Vice President of Phi Theta Kappa.

    I am interested in commercial applications, while working with the contracted utility, can my business do commercial Energy Audits of schools and colleges with this BPI Certification. What would you recommend for me?

    Hello Kelly and thank you for your question.

    You have three options that you can choose from and combine to reach your career goals. Should you take BPI Multifamily, please be aware this is focused primarily on older home units looking to be renovated to become more energy efficient. While many of our students have applied this to commercial use, you may find our RESENET HERS training could be more applicable as it transfers better in commercial energy auditing as well as new construction. Another course we have to offer that you may be interested in is our Professional Energy Manager program.
