NATE Certification Training

Everblue is offering training for both the Air to Air Heat Pump and Gas Furnace Service specialty certifications, as defined in NATE’s Knowledge Areas of Technician Expertise, or KATE. Included in both of these options are the prerequisite Core Service training and resulting 50-question exam.

Directly following the Core Service portion, the student can opt for Air to Air Heat Pump Service and/or Gas Furnace Service specialty, both of which require a 100-question exam. The best value for your time and money includes training and examination for NATE's Core Service, Air to Air Heat Pump Service, and Gas Heating (Air) Service certifications. Complete all three in as many days.

Air to Air Heat Pump Service Certification

man working on heat pumpThis specialized HVAC training tests a candidate's knowledge of the installation, service, maintenance, and repair of HVAC systems. System sizes are limited to 30 tons or less cooling capacity. To become NATE Certified, you must pass this specialty exam as well as the core exam. NATE Certified technicians must renew their credential every five years.

Prerequisites: Everblue's Core Competency training and one year of field experience working on heat pump systems as an installation technician.

Course Description: This 4-hour training course will enable students to learn more about the installation, service, system components, and applied knowledge of reverse cycle air to air units.

  •  Start-up and Checkout
  •  Airflow Measurements
  •  Planned Maintenance

Gas Heating (Air) Service Certification

System sizes are within 400,000 BTUs heating capacity. To become NATE Certified, you must pass this specialty as well as the core exam. NATE Certified technicians must renew their credential every five years.

Prerequisites: Everblue's Core Competency training and one year of field experience working on gas furnace systems as an installation technician.

Course Description: This 6-hour training course will enable students to learn more about the installation, service, system components, and applied knowledge of gas furnaces.
