    Good afternoon, I am currently studying for the ID+C, however I do not see any live prep exam courses offered for this specialty. If I were to sign up for the BD+C and need to cancel, prior to the exam date, in order to attend an ID+C class elsewhere, what are the penalty fees?

    Hello and thank you for your question.

    As of this posting we do not offer LEED AP training in Charlotte, NC. However, our schedules do get updated and Charlotte may be added in the future. I would recommend taking our LEED AP Online training as this is the most popular form of AP training we offer. This is because significantly less students choose to become LEED APs, so it can be difficult to hold classroom training for groups of 10 or larger in all the locations we offer our LEED Green Associate training.

    Should you have a group of 10 or larger interested in this training, please call us at 800 460 2575 to arrange in house training.

    The most popular exam to take is the LEED AP: Building Design and Construction exam as it is the most versitle and works mainly with new construction. This would be our recommendation, unless you plan to work with existing buildings which may make our LEED AP: Operations and Maintenance a good credential for you as well.     Everblue has the highest LEED Exam pass rates and we will definitely work with you if you are unsuccessful on your first attempt. In fact, if desired we would let you sit in the course for free, however, we are able to work with most students to quickly brush up on specific topics and get them to successfully retest very quickly without the need for a retake of the class.

Which AP Specialty is Most Beneficial

    I am a licensed Interior Designer specializing in commercial projects and am starting the LEED process with plans to become a LEED AP. Is it more beneficial for me to go the LEED AP Building Design and Construction route, or stick with the Interior Design and Construction exam? I want to maximize my credentials and am wondering if the BD+C exam has more weight/significance than the other.

    Great Question!

    LEED AP: Building Design and Construction is the most popular and recognized LEED AP speciatly, so you are correct to lean towards this as a specialty. However, since you are an interior designer you may want to consider taking both if you wishe as the LEED AP Interior Design encompasses almost everything you will learn in our LEED AP: Building Design and Construction course. It could be in your benefit to do both, but not necessary.

    I would like to find out if your training provides a necessary requirement to register for any LEED AP exam? ("To take the LEED AP exams, you must have previous experience within three years of your application submittal date, on a project registered for LEED certification"-GBCI Candidate handbook)

    Hi Natasa,

    Taking a class with Everblue is not a requirement to take the LEED AP exam. The 2 requirements are to have your LEED Green Associate credential and to have LEED experience (as you mentioned in your comment).

    But I would highly recommend preparing for the exam in some way whether through an Everblue LEED AP exam prep course or through Everblue On-Demand webinars and study materials. There is a lot of material included on these exams, so being thoroughly prepared is the best way to be successful.
