Hi, I worked in a to the trade only showroom where we sellsubstainable fabrics. I want to become LEED certified. Does my work experience there count? I've been there for 9 years.

Showroom Work Count as LEED Experience?

  • Submitted by Bana@Everblue on Tue, 10/11/2011 - 14:41.
Hello and thank you for your question.

The GBCI would like a letter of attestation that you have worked on a LEED registered project. Therefore, if in your career you have worked alongside a LEED registered project with the sales of your fabrics, this could be adequate. We always recommend checking with the GBCI to ensure you do not have any issues with your application.

Also keep in mind our LEED Green Associate exam prep course qualifies you to take the LEED Green Associate exam, so unless you are planning to take the LEED AP as well, you would be good to go!

Hello Melissa and Dennis and thank you for your questions.

There are several career paths you can utilize your knowledge of LEED for. Typically, someone already in the construction industry (such as an architect or contractor) will use LEED to enhance their knowledge and offer their customer more services. For those new to the industry, many professionals choose to become LEED consultants to manage the LEED process on a building. To discuss this in more detail, please give us a call at 800 460 2575.

    Thank you,
