Course Description: This Solar PV Installer course is designed to teach individuals how to physically install solar panels, modules, and components. Students will be constructing an actual array on a roof deck rack and installing the balance of components, including inverters, charge controllers, and battery banks for grid-tied and off-grid systems. This hands-on solar training course will provide you with the skills required to work for an installer or to work toward becoming a Solar Contractor yourself. In addition, you will be on your way toward qualifying to take the NABCEP PV Installer Exam.

Audience: This course is ideal for contractors, foremen, supervisors, journeymen, electricians, students and anyone interested in understanding renewable energy or looking for a new career path.

    Ok not problem with first education - such as Solar PV Boot camp. price ok! but how about installer class? cost timing? then the requirement of 2 PV installs suggestion on how I would get that experience without going to work for someone else? just don't want to do that. old geezer thoughts. lol

    I require all grant and scholarship opportunities! I believe I took the old LEED class as an apprentice but I'm not sure! I want to make sure and need this to start the solar business I know I will be starting soon! As a Matter of fact need to make sure to take advantage of all there is out there for me to be successful as an entrepreneur and business owner! Now I know most people are normal but I am not and require additional maintenance due to a catastrophic injury to my body that rendered me incapable of hard labor which also halted my former career as an Electrician! Now I can do this the long way and make schooling systems make special accommodations for me or I can ask for the help from the education and training system to aid me along the way!     At what level would u place a field experienced and a certified electrician from a different country to be able to qualify any solar installtion systems.

    Hello Mike,

    Our advice would be to take the solar assciate training. It will provide all the guidelines and procedures for solar installation in the United States. As you already have experience installation, this course is also appropriate since installations are not covered.

    Hello and thank you for your question,

    After you complete our Solar PV Installer course you will have acquired 80 hours of training. The initial 40 hour Solar PV Associate component will make you eligible for the NABCEP PV Entry Level Exam. Upon successful completion of this exam you will have an advantage in the hiring process. The 40 hours of Solar PV Installer training will give you real world experience that will prepare you for a job in the solar PV industry.
